About time. Enough was enough.

About time. Enough was enough.

I took a trip with my Dad to Isle Royale National Park in September last year. I never really shared many pics so here are a few. 6 days of backpacking on an undeveloped island in the middle of the biggest lake in the world.

This picture is actually Lake in the Clouds, which is in the UP. One of our stops on our trip.

A sunrise.

Treeeez

Moose. Fact.

A view from Brockway mountain

Lots of planks for crossing lowlands.

Yeah. Michigan is sweet sometimes.

Yup. Its all good to go. Just a little more cable adjustment before this Wednesday’s big kickoff of Artprize.

My Dad, and the engineers at the Marriot were a huge help in getting my piece hanging and up right.

If you get the chance, please go check it out in person. Its on Pearl Street, on the wall right across the street from the Amway Valet parking.
You can also register to vote at the JW Marriot. So if you want to vote on it, that starts Wednesday.

Today I installed 3 panels. The other 6 will hopefully be hanging by the end of tomorrow. My piece is at the JW Marriot on Pearl Street. It is on the wall across the street from the Amway valet parking. Also, yea its outdoors, so you’ll see it from the street. Artprizzzze.
Stay tuned.

Also, got my painting finished for the new Spearia building. It is 8 feet long. Here’s a teaser pic. Once its hung up, I’ll take some real photos to share.

Headed west again today with Roger and Matt. Took leonard out there.I wish I had more shots of stuff we saw on the trip out, but I was too busy blasting with buddies.
Yup. Its a Honda club.

And Matt frolicking.

Rogie embracing his Clint Eastwood?

First we hit up Grand Haven, then we headed south and found a cool beach that was pretty secret maybe?

Michigan=Totally awesome.

I took a trip on my bike today out into some unknown rural areas and started heading west until I would eventually hit the coast. I really don’t know where I was for a while. Hold on, it gets crazier.

So I was enjoying this lovely country scenery, when I look to my right and see a barn burning. I didn’t see anyone around, so I slammed my brakes, turned around, and took off running towards the barn. A truck pulled up to with a couple guys who also ran towards the barn with me. We checked if anyone was inside, and no one was. We yelled around the yard to see where the owner was and he frantically came running out of his house.

We figured out pretty quick that the barn wasn’t on fire, that it was a truck inside the barn. So we grabbed a huge chain from the guys’ pickup who stopped, and the dude ran in there, hooked it to the back of the burning pickup and ran out. Then he hooked it to his pickup and floored it! We got the burning truck out and saved the barn! This was risky, because the truck could have blown up at any second.

This is the truck once we got it yanked out of the barn. And here’s some more shots.

So anyways, after the fire dept finally got there, I peaced out. After a while more of rural country roads, I made it to the beach, and ended up in Muskegon. It was awesome.

The honda ran like a champ.

Good thing the rally packs had sweet stuff. So I wasn’t blinded.

I checked out the old submarine too. You michigan kids should know all about this by now.

Whoa, what a sweet day. And crazy happenings.
Yup.

Yup. Did an illustration for my friend Benji, founder of the moped empire in San Francisco, Treats. I have two versions.

Cool.
